Pemo conducts coffee expo, market matching

THE Provincial Environment Management Office (Pemo) has conducted the First Coffee Expo Market Matching in Negros Occidental aimed at boosting the local coffee industry.

The activity held at FTMON Hall in Bacolod City Wednesday, December 7, was participated by chairpersons of various Integrated Social Forestry (ISF) Farmers Organizations in the province.

Governor Eugenio Lacson, Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas Jr. and Pemo head Atty. Julie Ann Bedrio also attended the activity in support of the farmers.

The activity aims to make the local coffee producers understand coffee production and consumption trends and build partnerships with the business sector through market matching, as well as promote collaboration between local government units (LGUs), the business sector, non-government organizations, and the private sector for improved coffee production and marketing performance.

The participants attended the sessions on Coffee Production and Consumption Trends and Marketing, Best Practices on Coffee Robusta Production, Coffee Financing, and Community Based Coffee Processing Enterprise Model. (PR)
