’Destino,’ a Charles Edward Bridals and Events Christmas fashion extravaganza (First of 2 Parts)

There are so many reasons to get dressed in the coming weeks. It will be the perfect time to light up all the sparkles for a magical holiday season.

Charles Edward Bridals and Events curated holiday pieces and proudly presented a delightful collection from five of Cebu’s finest and sought-after designers—Dexter Alazas, Hanz Coquilla, Protacio Empacis, Wendell Quisido and Reysand Ornopia—in a fashion show dubbed “Destino,” held at SM Seaside City Cebu on Dec. 3.

To set the tone of the fashion show and dominate more than just the energy, two professional brother musicians Axel (saxophone) and John Walt Bordajo (vocals) provided a gripping musical experience with their excellent live renditions of tasteful jazz, Christmas, mellow pop and classic love songs.

The event was hosted by Fil-Dutch model and Ginoong Pilipinas - Mr. Universe Tourism Erik Lennart Visser. The opening remarks were given by no less than the style icon and chief executive officer of Charles+Edwards, Fiona Lideza.

The fashion line in a resplendent collection is filled with garment materials associated with the holidays, from shimmering sequins, sparkling fabric, classy laces, floral embroidery tulle lace in unique and elaborate designs by Dexter and Hanz, and textiles with fabulous prints, and Filipiniana theme by Protacio.

Wendell’s elaborate patterns and ingenious designs in bold colors are dominant, yet feminine.

The formal attire of suits for guys with a more classic cut, and flared suit trousers by Raysand Ornopia were pretty simple and straightforward. Color palettes of navy blue, black, maroon, and silver foster a serious and formal tone.

VIP present at the event were Mandaue City Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop’’ Ouano-Dizon, who sat front row with her mom Linda; Provincial Board Member Jonkie Ouano, who came with his wife Melanie Kittilstvedt; art collector Ivy Ang; Pacita Agoncillo Sode accoutred in a color block outfit; Cebu society historiographer Gavin Sanson Bagares; the high-level management team of SM Seaside City Cebu accompanied by Anther Infante, regional marketing head, Shopping Center Management Corp.; and some members of the media.

Now’s the time to glam up, celebrate and wear the most festively fabulous looking outfits and statement pieces.
