SINGER Jovit Baldivino, who rose to fame after winning the “Pilipinas Got Talent” in 2010, died early morning Friday, December 9, 2022. He was 29.
His wife, Camille Ann Miguel, broke the news on Facebook by posting a photo of her and the singer with the caption “Asawa ko.” She made another post two hours after with the caption: “Anong sama ng papasko mo smen.”
Radio and television reports said that Baldivino was confined at the Jesus of Nazareth Hospital in Batangas on Sunday night, December 4, after he collapsed in a party.
His friend, Limuel Llanes, said on Thursday, December 8, that the singer suffered from “hemorrhagic mild stroke” on December 4 and “went through successful operation and trying to fight his life under coma.”
The singer died Friday, December 9, 2022, as confirmed by the Jesus of Nazareth Hospital in Batangas through radio station Brigada Batangas.
His father, Hilario, confirmed to ABS-CBN News the passing of his son, saying the singer died around 4 a.m. due to stroke complications.
Baldivino worked as a siomai vendor in Batangas before he joined the “Pilipinas Got Talent” in 2010. He was named the first grand winner of the talent show.
He was best known for his rendition of The Journey’s “Faithfully” and “Too Much Love Will Kill You,” among others. (LMY)
