INSPIRED by the creativity of the Cebuano youth, RAFI The Kabilin Center (RAFI TKC), brings you a free art workshop on December 10, 2022 from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m.
Together with guest speaker, Leeroy New, a well-known contemporary artist, sculptor and designer, participants can expect inputs and a demonstration from the artist. The workshop will
focus on visualizing and creating a sculpture, wherein learners will get the chance to hone their artistic abilities━turning ordinary materials into extraordinary artform.
Through the theme: Sulong Sining, which means ‘charging forward’ [SULONG] through ‘art’ [SINING], the workshop aims to encourage young people to create art that will promote causes for positive change. It challenges them to value the opportunity to make an impact and speak about issues that they care about. Through their art, they can share their creative talents and identify art elements in a way that lets us know who they are, what they value, and what they envision for the future.
The workshop hopes to champion the youth’s perspectives that will help drive the nation to move forward together.
Participants are encouraged to bring the following materials for the workshop activity:
- Used plastic bottles (varying colors & sizes, 20-30 pieces per participant)
- Scissors
- box cutters
- big staplers
- markers,
- punchers
