Demecillo faces Lindog in Toledo tonight

FORMER World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific Youth bantamweight champion Carlo Demecillo is gunning for his first win in 2022 as he trades leathers with Kim Lindog in the headliner of “Joyful Showdown - Boxing For a Cause in Toledo City” on Dec. 14 at the Toledo Megadome in Toledo City, Cebu.

Demecillo hasn’t had much success in his campaign this year. In two fights in 2022, the 26-year-old Demecillo suffered an eighth round stoppage loss to Sho Ishida and a split draw with unbeaten prospect

BJ Wild.

Lindog, on the other hand, is on an impressive run, winning his last three bouts. He beat Anthony Galigao by unanimous decision, Marzon Cabilla via a third round stoppage and Mark Glen Antaran by unanimous decision.

Demecillo is 15-6-2 with eight knockouts, while Lindog is 8-13-1 with five knockouts.

Toledo City’s fighting cop Jusue Bastillada (3-1, 1 KO) slugs it out Matthew Fondales (1-3) in a four-round main supporting bout.

In the undercard, Rhonvex Capuloy (9-2, 6 KOs) locks horns with Reymond Empic (7-6, 3 KOs); Anthony Gilbuela (5-2-1, 1 KO) battles ex-world title challenger Vergilio Silvano (21-10-1, 12 KOs); Ramil Roda (1-0-1) faces off Dariel Diamante (0-1); John Kevin Jimenez (1-0, 1 KO) is up against Jelou Libres (0-1); and Ulymark Moras (0-1) is fighting Zaire Espedilla (0-2) in the show’s curtain-raiser.

Some of the proceeds of the show will be given to children with special needs.
