STUDENTS of West City Central School won this year's "Bangga sa Daygon," a choral group contest held at the activity center of Limketkai Mall last Friday, December 9, 2022.

In their red and black costumes, the elementary students of West City Central School sang a medley of Christmas songs, such as a mash up of "Mary, Did You Know" and "Born on Christmas Day," and the classic "Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit."

Following the champion choral group, who received P55,000 cash prize, were Gusa Elementary School as second placer (P35,000) and Macanhan Elementary School as third placer (P25,000). Each of them received a trophy.

Gusa Elementary School also won the "Best Conductor" special award.

A consolation prize worth P5,000 was also given to the other choral groups who competed in the contest, namely: Fr. William F. Masterson, SJ Elementary School; Bugo Central School; and Puerto Elementary School.

Bangga sa Daygon, one of the highlight activities of the city's Pasko de Oro, is a choral group contest open to all choirs, regardless of gender, of private and public elementary/grade schools in Cagayan de Oro.
