2K cops deployed in CL for holidays

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO A total of 2,000 police officers are deployed across the region to secure the holidays.

Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen, director of Police Regional Office III, said the policemen are deployed as early as December 16 as part of the “IMPLAN 17/2022” Ligtas Paskuhan operation.

He said security inspections and police presence are intensified in all bus terminals, airports and places of convergence such as malls and places of worship.

Stringent anti-criminality information drive and implementation of community quarantine and minimum health standard protocols are also being carried out in commercial business areas, he added.

“I instructed our chiefs of police to continuously conduct police focused operations and sustain the level of alertness and vigilance being displayed as Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) is being carried out,” Pasiwen said.

He added that cops are also ready provide public assistance to missing persons particularly children and elderly in collaboration with other agencies and volunteer organizations.

This is complemented by carpeted deployment of Motorist Assistance Hubs with Route Safety Marshals composed of PNP personnel.

The assistance hubs are placed in major thoroughfares and secondary roads in the region round the clock until January 5, 2023.

Aside from police officers, Pasiwen said force multipliers such as volunteer groups, private security guards and government security forces were also tapped as partners to enhance security coverage in the communities.
