THE top 1 most wanted person in the provincial level was arrested by the joint personnel of Cebu City Mobile Force Company, Cebu City Police Office and Getafe Municipal Police Station in Purok 1, Barangay Pandanon, Getafe town, Bohol.

Police identified the suspect as Tonio, 54, a fisherman whose real name is withheld to protect the dignity of the victim, who is also his relative.

Tonio was put in the wanted list after having been accused of committing rape, child abuse and lascivious conduct.

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Ester Morales Veloso of Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 6.

The court allowed the suspect to pay a bail of P180,000 for his lascivious conduct case, and another P200,000 for his rape through sexual assault case for his temporary liberty.

However, no bail has been recommended for his two other rape cases in violation of Article 266-A of the Anti-Rape Law.

Mobile Force commander Lieutenant Colonel Dexter Calacar said after they received a copy of the warrant of arrest they immediately coordinated with the Getafe Police Station and served the document to Tonio at 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28.

It was learned that the suspect had been abusing the victim for a long time, but later fled towards Bohol after being sued.

Tonio was also arrested in January 27, 2017 in Garfield Street, Barangay Suba, Cebu City for having in his possession drug paraphernalia during the One Time, Big Time operation by the operatives of Carbon Police Station 5 headed by former chief Major Keith Allen Andaya, but was later freed on February 10 of the same year after posting a bail.
