MEXICO, Pampanga Some 282 college students under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) here received their initial salary from the local government in simple ceremonies here.
The payout was attended by Public Employment Service Officer Romeo P. Tiglao, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Pampanga Field Office Director Arlene Tolentino, and Labor Employment Officer Arlene Castillo. The payout was led by the local Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the municipality.
The students received their salaries for their 20-day employment under the SPES program of the municipality and the DOLE amounting to P9,846.40 each.
Some 60 percent of the total salary of the SPES beneficiaries comes from the Municipal Government and the remaining 40 from the DOLE.
