Plania knocks out veteran Francisco in 28 seconds

“MAGIC” Mike Plania made quick work of tough veteran Jeffrey Francisco after knocking him out in the opening round of the co-main event of Sanman Promotions’ “Double Trouble” boxing show last Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City.

Plania landed a left uppercut to the body that dropped Francisco to his knees. The fight was stopped in just 28 seconds.

Plania, who is world rated, successfully bounced back from a unanimous-decision loss to Ra’eese Aleem last Sept. 4 in Los Angeles. He is now 27-2 with 14 knockouts.

Francisco suffered just his second career knockout loss and fell to 15-7-1 with a knockout.

Up-and-comer Ian Sampan won the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) International super featherweight strap over experienced Jason Tinampay.

Sampan dropped Tinampay three time before the fight was stopped in the sixth round.
