30-K fingerlings released in Floridablanca river

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region III (BFAR-3) released fish fingerlings in Camachile River, Floridablanca recently.

BFAR-3 was accompanied by Aeta fisherfolks in the dispersal of a total of 30,000 fish fingerlings near the mountain ranges in the said town.

The fish dispersal is part of the Balik Sigla sa Ilog at Lawa (BASIL) which seeks to care for and enrich inland waters and the aquatic animals in it.

Its also aims to assist families living along the coast, in this case the Aetas, whose main source of livelihood is fishing.

The fingerlings that were released were from BFAR-3’s Technology Outreach Station for Freshwater Sepecies (TOSFW) in Castillejos, Zambales.
