Firecracker injuries in PH increase by 55%

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The number of firecracker-related injuries in the country this holiday season increased by more than 50% compared to that of 2021.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 291 injuries caused by use of firecrackers from December 21, 2022 to January 5, 2023.

The number is 55% higher compared to the total 186 firecracker-related injuries recorded by the country on December 21, 2021 to January 4, 2022.

Most of the cases were registered during the New Year revelry from December 31 to January 1.

In Central Luzon, a total of 24 firecracker-related injuries were recorded during the same period.
