TWO firecracker-related injuries and one stray bullet injury were recorded during the celebration of Christmas eve and New Year's Day in Bukidnon.

According to Police Major Joan Navarro, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Northern Mindanao spokesperson, the two firecracker-related injuries were reported in the municipalities of Damulog and Maramag in Bukidnon.

The two injured young men are in stable condition and have already been discharged from the hospital.

The stray bullet incident, on the other hand, was also recorded in Maramag at around 11:30 p.m. on December 24, 2022. A minor was injured on their left wrist and is currently in stable condition.

Navarro said the investigation on the stray bullet incident, conducted by the Maramag Municipal Police Station, is still ongoing.

During the Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations, the PRO-Northern Mindanao, in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and other law enforcement agencies, have maximized their visibility, especially in places of convergence, such as malls, terminals, churches, and tourist destinations.
