Rains destroy P15M worth of rice crops

APALIT The intermittent rains in the past few days have hurt the agriculture sector of this town.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported that a total of ?15,836,396 worth of rice crops in this municipality alone as of Sunday morning.

The downpour of rain also caused flooding in the coastal barangay of San Agustin, Candaba town.

As of 11 a.m. yesterday, the flooding in the area has reached 7 feet, according to the town's DRRMO.

The intermittent downpour of rains was caused by a low pressure area and the northeast monsoon.
