A GRADE four student was pinned to death by a tree while asleep in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, January 13, 2023.
Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the fatality as Jenny Delos Santos, nine.
Lorenzo said the incident happened around 9 p.m. Thursday, January 11, in Sitio Bista Alegre, Tolosa village, Zamboanga City.
Investigation showed that the victim was asleep at the residence of her grandmother when pinned to death by a coconut tree that fell due to strong wind.
Lorenzo said the remains of the victim was brought to the residence of her relatives at Sitio Baluno in Salaan village for proper burial rites. (SunStar Zamboanga)
