A MAN standing outside his store in Sitio Lumboy, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman an hour past midnight on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
The victim was identified as 48-year-old Reynante Sabanal Navarro.
According to Chief Master Sergeant Noel Caratero of the Mambaling Police Station who is handling the case, Navarro was about to go back inside his house located next to the store when a man wearing a black jacket and black pants suddenly appeared and shot him several times.
Navarro was killed on the spot.
Caratero said neighbors heard four gunshots.
Based on police records, Navarro was jailed for theft. There were also reports that he was involved in the illegal drug trade, but Caratero said they have yet to confirm this.
Mambaling police are trying to establish the motive in his killing, but they are not discounting the possibility that it was personal. (BBT)
