Comelec Central Luzon disclosed earlier that registration of voters for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) slated in October 2023 is "still low."

This, with just three weeks left before the registration closes on January 31.

Comelec Central Luzon Director Elmo Duque said that only 69,351 have so far registered in the entire region since the resumption of the voters' registration on Dec. 12, 2022.

Only more than half of the target number of registrants for the BSKE which is about 110,000 in the region.

"Our data shows that this is a big low in our registration. We are encouraging the public to participate and be prompt in the registration,” he said.
