MASANTOL The local government of Masantol is implementing measures to protect its shoreline and the community around it.
As a coastal town, most of the 26 barangays of Masantol are situated along the Pampanga River.
To ensure the safety of the coastal communities, the Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Services Office (MAFSO) here will plant 1,000 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees, and 1,500 mangrove propagules.
The said seedlings will be planted along the coastline of Pampanga River during the series of “2023 Fruit Bearing at Mangrove Tree Planting Project".
“Ang pangunahing layunin ng proyekto ay upang mabawasan ang pagguho ng shoreline at maaaring maprotektahan ang mga pamayanan sa coastal laban sa coastal flooding, mataas na alon, at tsunami,” MAFSO said.
The year-long “2023 Fruit Bearing at Mangrove Tree Planting Project” is part of Mayor Jose Antonio “Ton-Ton” Bustos’ advocacy to ensure the protection of all Masantoleño families.
