THREE more public schools in Talisay City will be installed with closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

The budget for the CCTV cameras for Dumlog Elementary School in Barangay Dumlog, Iba Elementary School in Barangay Lagtang, and Manipis Elementary School in Barangay Manipis was approved by the City Council during its 25th regular session recently.

Councilor Eduardo "Digul" Gullas, chairman of the Committee on Education, said each of the beneficiary schools will receive P50,000 for the purchase of surveillance camera.

The amount will be taken from the Mayor's Special Project Fund, which is also intended for the rehabilitation of schools damaged by Typhoon Odette.

Gullas said they are always looking after the safety of the students and their teachers, thus coming up with the project.

Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas said they are always ready to allocate a budget for the purchase of CCTV cameras for the public schools subject to City Council’s approval.

Previously, the City Government also installed CCTV cameras in the public elementary and secondary schools in barangays San Isidro and Candulawan. (BBT/TPT)
