Subay sa tinguha nga maminosan ang huot nga sitwasyon sa trapiko sa Metro Cebu, gipasar sa Hunta Probinsyal ang resolusyon nga nag-awhag sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) ug uban pang mga ahensya nga ipadayon ang proyekto alang sa inter-intra island sea water transport system.
Ang maong resolusyon giduso ni Bokal Glenn Anthony Soco sa sixto distrito atol sa sisyon sa Hunta Probinsyal.
Matud ni Soco nga dili malilong nga sa padayon nga paglambo sa Sugbo, padayon usab ang problema sa mga motorista ug mga pasahero sa huot nga trapiko.
“The traffic and congestion crisis in Metro Cebu and even with the nearby local government units as manifested in the debilitated long hours of daily commute and land travel have assumed the magnitude and degree of a public calamity,” saysay ni Soco.
Nagtuo si Soco nga pinaagi sa inter-intra island water transport mas mahatagan og dali nga paagi sa pagtabok ug pagkonektar sa mga lungsod sa lagyong lugar ug kaislahan sa probinsya sa Sugbo ngadto sa Metro Cebu areas.
Sa iyang obserbasyon, pipila na ka mga traffic project ang gihimo apan wala gihapon mahuman ug ang kalangay nakahatag og dugang kahasol sa mga pasahero.
“Despite numerous infrastructure projects are initiated which are aimed to address the pressing and perennial problem of congestion and traffic in Metro Cebu, these projects are moving at a very snail-pace. With the alarming and depressing state of land transportation and its horrible effects to the public, there is a need to pursue other means and initiatives to help address the pressing concern on traffic. Such alternatives have to be worked on now,” dugang ni Soco.
Matud ni Soco nga una na sab nga niendorso ang Regional Development Council (RDC-7) sa paghimo og feasibility study sa maong proyekto ug ang uban pang kahimoan niini.
Ang pagpatuman sa sea transportation gilantaw sa mga bokal sa Probinsya nga gawas sa mas daghang options sa mga Sugbuanon, makadugang usab kini sa pagpalambo sa ekonomiya ilabi na sa mas sayon nga paghatod sa mga serbisyo ngadto sa lagyong mga dapit sa lalawigan sa Sugbo.
