Pangan: Tabun: the northernmost portion

I am writing about the progress made by the 27 barangays of Mabalacat City. As much as possible, I will make do with the material I got from the local agencies.

Sharing the same name as Barangay Tabun in Angeles City is the Barangay Tabun of nearby Mabalacat City which borders Bamban, Tarlac on the north.

With a population of 20,967 as of the 2020 census and an area of 487.81 hectares. Barangay Tabun hosts the present site of the City's main government center at Xevera which also has Robinson's supermarket and a slew of small fruit stalls and eateries.

Lying opposite Xevera is Fiesta Communities, a gated subdivision pioneered by developer Willie Tan of Hausland Development Corporation based in Angeles City.

Santos Ventura National High School and its elementary wing are also situated in Barangay Tabun.

Its current chairman is Danilo de Leon and is assisted by the barangay council composed of:Jennalyn Pascual, Christopher Garbo, Glen Gueco, Ennis Manlapaz, Ernesto C. Bulanadi, Jr., Maria Bella Manlapaz, Angelica C. Magsino, Mary Joy Arias, Abel Manlapaz and Annie Padriga.

Barangay Tabun has vacant lands which are ideal for commercial usage: one is adjacent to Xevera, along MacArthur Highway and another at the front of the Tabun barangay hall. Also being tapped as an industrial site is a large tract at the side of Fiesta Communities subdivision.

In a few year's time, observers predict that more investors wi;; set their sights on Barangay Tabun, considered also as an ideal investment site.

Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo onced announced that the large trat of land adjacent to Fiesta Communities will become a commercial and industrial hub which could provide immense job opportunities to his constituents and substantial revenues from possible business establishments which would locate therein.

Like other barangays in the city, Barangay Tabun, the northrnmost barangay of Mabalacat City will soon become an important part of the city.
