CEB add flights to 5 local destinations from Cebu

NTICIPATING a continued “revenge travel” this year, Gokongwei-backed Cebu Pacific (CEB) is ramping up its direct flights from Cebu to five domestic destinations starting in February as travel demand grows among local passengers.

The airline will increase its flight frequency from Cebu to Bacolod by 40 percent from 10x weekly to 14x weekly starting next month. The number of flights from Cebu to Tacloban will also be increased by 33 percent from 18x weekly to 24x weekly during the same month.

CEB also added more flights from Cebu to Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro by 10 percent each next month. There will be 23 flights per week to Iloilo from 21 flights previously while Cagayan de Oro will have 30 flights per week from 27 flights.

Flights to Manila will also be increased from 86 flights per week to 91 flights per week, up by six percent.

“We are looking forward to a better and brighter new year as we continue to see growth in travel demands and feel positive indicators in the industry. We continue to prioritize the ramp-up of our key domestic routes, coupled with low fares and great service,” said Xander Lao, CEB president and chief commercial officer.

Aside from the five places, CEB flies direct from Cebu to 17 other domestic destinations: Boracay, Butuan, Calbayog, Camiguin, Clark, Coron, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Ozamis, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Siargao and Zamboanga.

From Cebu, travelers may also fly to two international destinations, namely Seoul (Incheon) and Singapore. CEB now flies to a total of 34 domestic and 19 international destinations.
