800 traffic violators to get availment certificates for tax condonation

AROUND 800 traffic violators in Cagayan de Oro who availed of the tax condonation have received their certificates of availment on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from the City Legal Office.

According to the data from the City Legal Office, as of January 18, a total of 2,160 traffic violators have availed of the tax relief/condonation ordinance, of which 674 have already claimed their certificates of availment.

According to the City Legal Office, it will issue certificates of availment until January 25, 2023.

Ordinance No. 14385-2022 grants relief to persons, who have violated traffic and parking rules in 2021 and prior years and were issued Traffic Citation Tickets (TCT) by the RTA, in a form of condonation of their penalties or administrative fines.

Traffic violators availing of the condonation should secure a certificate of availment and submit it to the RTA for the withdrawal of the violation report.

If he or she has TCT issued for 2022, they have to be paid in full before they can avail of the condonation. Then, they will have to secure their certificate of traffic violations and billing from the RTA.

The Certificate of Availment and Certificate of Traffic Violations, and the receipt for full payment of 2022 TCT, if any, will be the basis for the City Treasurer's Office to accept the payment.
