THE 10 male minors engaged in a riot in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City at dawn Friday, January 20, are being held by the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) of Talisay City Police Station (TCPS).

TCPS Chief Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes said they learned about the commotion from the video taken by a concerned citizen that was posted on SunStar’s Facebook page.

Caballes said the young offenders, accompanied by the Gender and Development (GAD) personnel of Dumlog, were brought to the police station for questioning.

Their parents were also summoned, added Caballes.

The police are still determining who among them started the trouble.

Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gulas, for his part, said he immediately called for an investigation when he learned about the incident.

“When it was reported that there was a rumble, I quickly contacted the police to investigate immediately. As far as policies moving forward, I will coordinate with the recommendations of the PNP (Philippine National Police),” Gullas said. (BBT/TPT)
