The EGS Aneda Builders and the K&L Marketing put down their respective foes in the semifinals on Sunday evening to set up a championship showdown in the Chooks-to-Go Sinulog Cup 2023.

The finals will tip off following the game for third-place honors, which tips off at 5 p.m.

K&L Marketing overcame an undermanned DH25-RUS squad, 82-78, while EGS toppled UNBL, 71-69.

K&L leaned on the game-long brilliance of their two cagey veterans, Patrick Cabahug and Will McAloney, to get them past the squad of PBA legend and Cebu City councilor, Dondon Hontiveros.

Cabahug scored 23 points, spiked by five three-pointers, while McAloney had a double-double of 21 points and 14 boards. Harold Cortes and Fletcher Galvez also fired in 11 points apiece to help K&L pick up the thrilling win.

La Salle guard Ice Blanco and former Cesafi MVP Shaquille Imperial had 15 points each to lead DH25-RUS.

In the other semis game, EGS got some clutch shots from National University guard John Galinato and University of the Visayas standout Ted Saga to best the veteran-laden UNBL squad from Bacolod City.

With the game close in the fourth, Galinato hit a left-handed layup while Saga canned a booming trifecta from the right wing to help give EGS the separation it needed to pull off the win.

Galinato topscored for EGS with 19 points, while Saga had 17 points built on five three-point makes to go with 11 boards. Justine Dacalos added 12 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
