City formally presents MASTS Friendship Games athletes

ATHLETES from the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) and Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) and their school heads and coaches were formally presented during the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds Monday morning, January 23, 2023.

ZPPSU ranked sixth in the MASTS Friendship Games with 26 gold, 15 silver and 50 bronze medals; WMSU ranked 12th with 14 gold, 18 silver and 14 bronze medals; and ZSCMST ranked 26th with 3 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Dalipe congratulated the athletes and their respective schools for their achievements, as he ordered the immediate release of the cash incentives to the athletes and coaches.

Based on Ordinance 565, also known as the Sports Incentive Ordinance, a gold won on local competitions is equivalent to P1,500, a silver medal is equivalent to P1,000 while a bronze medal is worth P750. (SunStar Zamboanga)
