TWO of the most wanted persons in the regional were separately arrested by policemen in law enforcement operations, the police reported Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula identified them as Gil Montipon, 54, and Ipo Villegas, 36.

The police said that Montipon was arrested in law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 9:05 p.m. Monday, January 23, at Sitio Impaombo in Lumbia village, Cagayan de Oro City.

Montipon was jointly arrested by policemen of Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte and Cagayan de Oro City.

The police said that Montipon is listed as the number three most wanted person in Mutia and has standing warrant of arrest for statutory rape with no recommended bail issued by the court of Dipolog City on October 29, 2010.

The police said that Villegas was arrested also in a law enforcement operation around 2 p.m. Monday, January 23, at Purok 2 in Poblacion village, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Villages is listed as the number six most wanted person in Mahayag and has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of two counts of lascivious conduct with no recommended bail issued by the court of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur on January 19, 2023. (SunStar Zamboanga)
