A TRAFFIC enforcer in Bacolod City was terminated from service after he was allegedly caught on camera taking bribe money from a motorist at the corner of La Salle, Barangay Villamonte, in the city over the weekend.
Major Junjie Liba, head of Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO), said the enforcer, in his early 50s, was terminated effective yesterday, January 24, 2023.
He said the enforcer, a job order worker, was caught accepting money amounting to P50 from a motorist who was not wearing protective gear.
“We will not tolerate this kind of action and it will serve as a lesson to our personnel,” he added.
Liba noted that the said enforcer was working in BTAO since last year.
He said all traffic enforcers were already reminded not to engage in illegal activities and should perform well.
“We should love our work and strictly enforce the traffic rules. The violators should be penalized by our enforcers,” Liba said.
He said the enforcers were tasked to issue a citation ticket to the traffic violators.*
