The 89th birthday celebration of Olivia V. Yanson has gathered the influential and those in high society to her grand birthday celebration held at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod on Monday, January 23, 2023.

The grand old lady was happy on her special day as her family led by her daughter—Ginette Yanson - Dumancas and son Leo Rey Yanson, relatives, grandchildren, guests and friends, business partners, employees, and public officials both the national and local—honored her with their presence on her grand celebration.

First Lady Lisa Araneta - Marcos, former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavit Singson, and Megaworld's top man Kevin Andrew Tan arrived and attended her birthday celebration with the 1,000 schoolchildren hosted at a party by the seaside at their private resort in Barangay Bubog, Talisay City, the morning of January 23.

There was a thanksgiving mass held at the said event and prayers were offered for her as she turned a year of blessings in her life as a mother, a business person, a friend, a benefactor, an employer, and a friend to many people.

In the evening, the First Lady also attended but flew back to Manila hours later. Former President Rodrigo R. Duterte and his daughter Vice President Sara Duterte Carpio came and greeted OVY on her special day.

Senators Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, Bong Go, Salvador Medialdea, former Executive Secretary of former President Duterte, Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo "Albee" Benitez and First Lady Nikki Benitez, son Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, and girlfriend Sue Ramirez, Bacolod Congressman Greg Gasataya, Bacolod Councilor Cindy Rojas and husband Bobby Rojas, Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Al Victor Espino, Jonathan Lo, Ian Manuel Lo and their mother Corazon Lo, Willy Au and Atty. Bayatan, Jerry Sy and daughter Margrey Sy, Congressman Anthony Golez and family, and many personalities that are known in the political, business, civic, and entertainment sectors, celebrated with Mommy Love or OVY as fondly called by those dear to her.

The renowned musician Ryan Cayabyab and his orchestra, the powerful voices of Jed Madela and Gigi Delana, and Juan Miguel Salvador have fully entertained everyone and hooked many guests to the dance floor.

OVY was thankful to everyone. She had mixed feelings on her special day as tears of joy and happiness just blended into her special day. Her daughter Ginette rendered a special song for her. She got teary-eyed. Her granddaughters also sang and gave a meaningful message to her.

Her youngest son Leo Rey led the tossing of wine to wish her good health and happiness and everything that she prayed for.

During her speech, all she could say was "Thank you to all" with a slight mention of how the transportation business she and her husband the late Ricard Yanson, Sr. started and worked together to let it grow exponentially.

Former President Rodrigo R. Duterte also seized the limelight with his typical frankness.

He thanked OVY and her family for helping him in his presidency. “I seldom attend birthday parties especially of the rich because I don't know where to put myself coming from a middle-class family. But the Yansons helped me a lot when I was still seeking election to the office of the President until I finished my term. Thank you to all of you. Also to Leo Rey for making me enjoy my retirement.”

The night ended with songs and dances.*
