A PHILIPPINE Air Force (PAF) aircraft carrying two individuals crash landed in the vicinity of Pilar, Bataan on Wednesday morning, January 25, 2023.
PAF spokesperson Colonel Ma. Consuelo Castillo said the SF260 departed from Sangley airport at 9:59 a.m. for a recurrency training.
“Unfortunately, one of our SF260 aircraft crash landed in Bataan just this late morning. We confirm that it is one of our air force aircraft, the SF260 aircraft from Sangley, it was on recurrency training and that there were two pilots involved,” Castillo said in an interview with reporters.
“Unfortunately, we cannot give details more than that. Investigation is ongoing... We lost track of them because we’ve been tracking our military aircraft through spider tracks and we lost track of them around 10:34 a.m. today,” she added.
Castillo has yet to confirm fatalities following the incident.
The SF260 was one of PAF’s attack aircraft under 15th Strike Wing.
All the remaining SF260 fleet were grounded following the incident.
