This is my first contribution to the opinion editorial section of the Sustar News Pampanga for the year 2023.
As I had reported in this paper some few months ago, the 100 days onward of the incumbent Mayor of Magalang was proven to be successful in all areas of concern be it on economic growth, infrastructure development, great improvement on peace and order. People of Magalang can now roam around without fear of being molested by criminal elements. Drug addiction has been minimized.
This could not be possible without the unequivocal support of the Local PNP headed by the newly appointed Chief of Police of Magalang Lt. Col. Romeo Castro to the present leadership. Consistently providing medical help and free medicine for the poor and underpriviledges specially for the Senior Citizens.
Sport development for the youth intended to drive them away from illegal activities and drug addiction. Clean and green project has been given a big push resulting an amazing award for the town of Magalang as the cleanest and greenest in the whole province of Pampanga.
Enhancing of Local Tourism to target a big source of revenues for Magalang.
In my own humble observation Mayor Malu is determined to intensify and sustain all the essential projects that she started after being elected as Mayor in the last 2022 local elections. Last December 13 of the year 2022 was the 159th Founding Anniversary of the town of Magalang.
It was celebrated with a massive display of colorful and sparkling Christmas lanterns and lights, which brought about a feeling of joy and happiness among her constituents. It was also on this memorable occasion Mayor Malu took the opportunity to thank the Magalenos for their invaluable supports to her administration.
Without you my dreams and aspirations for the progress, peace and unity for out beloved town won't be achieved, she stated. She assured her townmates to continue providing a transparent and good governance because I know it is only through true faith and genuine commitment that my administration will be on the road to success and progress she added.
I am aware that what I've been doing to serve you my Kabalen is not yet enough and so, I pledge before you and our Creator to do more and move forward for the stability, peace and unity in our midst. Mayor Malu concluded in her impromptu speech. With all the laudable and bright ideas embarked by the Local Chief Executive of Magalang, surely our town will be enshrined as peaceful and progressive community to live in.
And so, I call on peaceful loving people of Magalang to join hands together and be a partner for a common purpose to attain Mayor Malu's vision and mission for One Magalang.
