A PAIR of severed hands were found inside an ice cream plastic container at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, January 25.

Captain Jonito Pastrana, commander of Police Station 2, said the severed hands were found by the garbage collector of the IPM- Construction and Development Corp. (IPM-CDC) at about 6:50 a.m.

He said the ice cream container was placed inside a box and dumped along Purok Kagaykay.

Also inside the container were cooking ingredients.

A piece of paper with a list of several persons allegedly involved in drugs was also found in the box.

Pastrana said the hands, cut from the wrist, were already brought to a funeral for examination.

He said they have no lead yet on the identity of the individual who left the box in the area, adding that they are still conducting a thorough investigation.

The police are also validating the names of the individuals included in the list who are allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

Pastrana urged those who may know about the crime to surface and shed light on the incident.

For his part, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said it’s a big challenge for the police to solve the crime incidents in the city.

“This might be personal or drug-related case (severed hands case). We are not sure if there are vigilante killers here,” he said.

He added, only the police can release the result of the investigation since they were tasked to maintain the peace and order in Bacolod.*
