AN ALLEGED notorious drug pusher was shot dead in Sitio Puntod, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City around 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Staff Sergeant Renato Baldo of Mambaling Police Station 11, the case investigator, identified the victim as Dilbonne Fernandez Mijares, 45, a resident of Sitio Naba of the said barangay.
It was learned that the victim was walking in the inner part of Sitio Puntod when the suspect identified as Ramil Abarri alias Amil, 34, of Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City suddenly appeared and shot him in the head.
Mijares died instantly.
The victim’s daughter who refused to be identified said there were several drug users in the area who got mad at his father because he allegedly deceived them.
She added that the victim had received numerous death threats from the suspect, who fled after the incident.
The Mambaling police conducted a hot pursuit operation to arrest the gunman. (BBT, TPT)
