AT LEAST five drug personalities, including a woman, were arrested, while more than P1.7 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Cebu and Talisay on Thursday evening, January 26, 2023.
First to fall in a drug raid conducted by the Drug Enforcement Group Visayas Special Operations Unit in Sitio Mikabaha, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City were Oliver Manayon alias Barok, 50, and his alleged runner Joel Belotindos alias Awe, 42. Seized from them were 15 grams of suspected shabu worth around P100,000.
It was learned that Manayon was just released in June 2022 from a five-year prison sentence at the Cebu City Jail.
In Tres de Abril Extension, Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City, operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Captain Joffre Grande arrested two drug suspects past 8 p.m. on the same day for having their possession of 105 grams of alleged shabu with standard drug price of P714,000.
Police identified the suspects as Jover Paca alias Dondon, 36, and Reynaldo Cabangca alias Ta-ex, 24, both from Barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
In Sitio Mananga 2, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, a certain Flordeliz Dacles, 40, a widow who hails from Sitio Santo Niño, Barangay Suba, Cebu City, was handcuffed by the operatives of Talisay City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Captain Lino Tryss Galvan around 10 p.m.
Dacles yielded P140 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P952,000 during the raid. The suspects will be facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (BBT, TPT)
