EVERYONE started to write and gain knowledge with the use of pad paper, pencils, and with backpacks (school bags) as our regular school buddies in our journey to obtain a diploma in education.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod East and the Zonta Club of Bacolod collaborated with the Bacolod City Water District in the distribution of school supplies and backpacks to the schoolchildren of Alberto D. Arceo, Sr. Elementary School.

Baciwa has already distributed backpacks to Alangilan Elementary School and will also distribute them to Felisa elementary school, Abkasa elementary school, and, Iluminado S. Nessia elementary school.

The group said that to complete the five schools, they will be distributing a total of 1, 000 backpacks with school supplies.

Engineer Mike Soliva was in charge of the said project.

RCBE was represented by Past Presidents Sonya Verdeflor Jun Jun Arceo and Philip Araneta.

Zonta Club of Bacolod was represented by President Reeda Bantug, Vice President Clarissa L. Araneta, Secretary Tina Alagaban, Auditor Nina D. Arceo, and member Tina Alagaban.

Baciwa was represented by BACIWA General of Manager Mona Dia Jardin and staff.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod East distributed pencils and the Zonta Club of Bacolod provided the schoolchildren with bread and pastries.

The backpacks with school supplies were provided to the children by Baciwa.

Zonta Vice President and BACIWA Director Araneta said the activity is in line with the BACIWA Water District Week which falls on the fourth week of January 2023 and is part of its 50th anniversary of the celebration set on October 9, 2023.

This celebration dubbed "Baciwa goes to School" aims to help the students understand the role of the water district in providing, safe and potable water to the community and likewise promotes promoting conservation.

They hope that the children are happy with their new backpacks and school supplies which they can use during school days.
