It seems that the Cebu City Hall does not want to avert a traffic crisis. Its latest move to appease the B. Rodriguez Street vendors by creating the “Chibogan sa B. Rod” is creating a traffic mess.
Hundreds of motorists suffer from 5 p.m. onwards every day. They are being funneled through a single lane just to make way for vendors to sell barbeque on one lane of the road.
This definitely doesn’t look “Singapore-like.” Where are the public toilets? And where’s the running water for hygiene and washing utensils? And aren’t the vendors violating (and with City Hall’s blessings) City Ordinance 2408 wherein they are sitting on designated bike lanes?
Let’s pray that our good mayor will cancel this activity and return the road to the tax-paying motorists.
