DSWD 7 to implement new 4Ps strategies

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Visayas wants to reinforce its relationship with different Local Government Units (LGUs) in the region to implement new strategies for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) this year.

The 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) Jiah Sayson and the focal persons in the 4Ps Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) visited different local chief executives and local social welfare and development officers in cities of Carcar and Bogo, including the town of Minglanilla, Compostela. Daanbantayan, and Medellin in Cebu on the first month of the year.

The program's thrusts and priorities for 2023 were discussed in the meeting such as the registration of potential beneficiaries and the continuing provision of social protection programs and services for both active and graduating 4Ps partner-beneficiaries.

Sayson said in a statement that the support of the LGUs is crucial in the implementation of DSWD programs and services, including the 4Ps.

Also included in the discussion were the strategies to prevent cash card pawning, the registration of potential 4Ps beneficiaries, and the continuing provision of social protection programs and services for both active and graduating 4Ps beneficiaries.

There will also be a conversation about the implementation of special validation of the 4Ps households unassessed and identified as non-poor in Listahanan 3. (EHP with PR)
