28 seniors citizens get P100K from Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Some 28 Kapampangan senior citizens above the age of 95-years-old received a P100,000 each from the provincial government.

This was made during a simple ceremony at the New Legislative Building lobby of the provincial capitol on Monday, January 30.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda presented the cheques to the seniors who were accompanied by their immediate families and relatives.

“Congratulations po sa mga anak, dahil sa pag-aalaga po ninyo sa inyong mga magulang, sila po ay umabot sa ganyang edad. Sana po itong matatanggap nilang pera ay ingatan po ninyo, huwag po ninyong basta-basta gagastusin, itabi po ninyo para sa kanilang mga pangangailangan, gaya ng pagkain at mga gamot,” Pineda said.

The cash gifts are part of the benefits the provincial government provides to senior citizens under Ordinance No. 683 Series of 2014, or “An Ordinance Enacting the Senior Citizen Code of the Province of Pampanga.”

Those who have reached 100 years old are entitled to receive the incentive. under Ordinance 647 or the Senior Citizens Code.

But this was amended by the provincial board, lowering the age of the beneficiaries from 100 to 95 years old.
