AT LEAST 19 local government units (LGUs) in Cebu have declared suspension of classes Wednesday, February 1, 2023, due to bad weather, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
The LGUs include Cordova, Sogod, Catmon, Carmen, Danao City, Compostela, Consolacion, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Naga City, San Fernando, Carcar City, Aloguinsan, Toledo City, Pinamungajan, Balamban, Asturias, Tuburan and Argao.
The PDRRMO alerted all local disaster units to monitor their surroundings for the possible occurrence of landslides and floods.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council sent a weather advisory through text messages on Wednesday, placing Cebu under orange rainfall alert and warned of heavy rains, floods and landslides. (ANV/TPT)
