A WATCH-LISTED drug suspect yields illegal drugs and a firearm when arrested by authorities in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspect as Arjien Aguana Basister alias Ton-Ton, 30, a resident of Sitio Daap in Sangali village, Zamboanga City.
Lorenzo said that Basister was arrested by joint police and military operatives in an anti-drug operation around 9:27 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, at Zone 3B in Mercedes village, Zamboanga City.
Lorenzo said seized from the suspect were 75 grams of suspected shabu packed in two heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P510,000 and a caliber .45 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition, a genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of a bundle of boodle money.
He said the suspect was placed under a series of surveillance before the launch of the anti-drug operation against him.
The suspect was detained pending the filing of formal charges against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
