What makes you happy?
What makes you happy?

Happiness, in psychology, according to britannica.com, is a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one’s life and accomplishments overall.

There are feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. What or who makes you happy?

People will give a variety of answers when answering the question. Individuals have a different concepts of what makes them happy. It is highly possible that what makes me happy, will not be the same for others. We all have our uniqueness.

Some people would say their partners and their families give them joy. Does this mean an unmarried person will not be happy? Wrong. I know many single men and women who are radiating happiness.

Others feel extremely satisfied with their work ... yes, work can bring pleasure. When you love your job, everything falls into place. It gives you contentment. It is a matter of choosing the right career.

Still, others take delight when eating their favorite food. Treat yourself!

Several people experience bliss when they get together with great friends. There are countless more reasons to be happy. Think about it.

Last Sunday, the gospel talked about the beatitudes, where Jesus reminds us how blessed we are. Even when other people hurt us, reject us, hate us...We are still blessed. Jesus will always be there for us. That is a big reason to be joyful. Let us also be a blessing to others.
