TEACHERS from the Department of Education (DepEd) Cebu City Division joined the two-day video production training at SunStar Cebu to create and digitize video learning materials for students.

Twenty public school teachers were exposed to the basics of video production and video editing, with workshops and hands-on experience on producing video outputs, from Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, to Friday, Feb. 3, at the SunStar Cebu office.

Kaalamdag Learning Videos, a project for producing instructional materials in video format, coordinated with SunStar for the training.

Barry Dolloso, a science teacher from the Abellana National School and one of the pioneers of Kaalamdag, said they will be implementing the things they learned during the training in their respective schools.

“This coming week, we are planning to have a re-echo seminar, so the Kaalamdag team is planning and looking into how we are going to present digitizing our curriculum in video format using the insights we have learned from the training,” Dolloso said.

Lovely Verdijo from the Abellana National School said the training was very helpful to her as a teacher who will venture into a new platform of teaching.

“I enjoyed the training and appreciated the fun learning experience. It was helpful to understand the basics of videography and the workshop also has provided us with concrete examples on easy-to-follow tools in making educational videos,” Verdijo said.

According to Dolloso, the new video learning format is supported by the DepEd Cebu City Division as a way of adapting to the changing platforms of learning.
