A TOTAL of 200 school children benefitted from the feeding program initiated by the Army’s 100th Infantry “Kalasag” Battalion (IB) in Indanan, Sulu, the military said Friday, February 3, 2023.

In a statement, the 100IB said the recipients of the feeding program held Thursday, February 2, were the 200 school children in Kagay Elementary School in Indanan town.

The feeding program was held in partnership with the Kagay barangay council headed by village chief Frandzkhan Ibrahim, and Kagay Elementary School Teachers headed by Alnashra Jalaidi.

The feeding program is anchored on the theme: “Gutom at Malnutrisyon sama-sama nating wakasan, Kumain ng wasto at maging Aktibo.”

“This activity aims to contribute to giving exact nutrition to the children of Kagay ES (Elementary School) with a total of 200 pupils,” the 100IB said.

“It is also our simple means of teaching our kids the joy of giving and the essence of sharing,” the 100IB added.

The Kalasag troopers expressed their gratitude to Norhaima Kulani, the municipal social welfare officer of Indanan, for the unending support of the battalion’s activity.

Present during the feeding program were Hadja Kumalah Ibrahim, former municipal councilor of Indanan, Kagay Youth Coordinator Alkimar Alawan, and parents of the students who untiringly supported the success of the activity. (SunStar Zamboanga)
