Eugenio: Confidence is earned

A quote that got me thinking recently is “Confidence is Earned.” I believe what this quote means is that, with enough time spent on improving oneself, one becomes confident. This makes me think of how people often feel discouraged and lowly of their ability despite the hours of honing their craft. I believe there is more to hours of improvement in giving someone confidence and it deals with one’s mentality and disposition as well.

Oftentimes, no matter how amazing one is, our own view is what impacts us the most. Perhaps, one needs a specific kind of support to be able to have the confidence to believe in oneself. To know what that specific support may be, one must know one’s Heaven Luck, a factor of Human Success. Heaven Luck is capable of showing aspects of ourselves that one wouldn’t be aware otherwise. However, knowing how one works with our Heaven Luck is not enough. After learning, one must do and study what one should do to be better.

With the knowledge of ourselves, the goal now is to find the technique or strategy to help ourselves. This act of working towards our goal is called Man Luck, which is another Factor of Human Success. Although Man Luck involves our actions and moving towards the goal, it also involves preparing and equipping oneself with the knowledge on what to do. Additionally, it is important to know, we are not alone in achieving confidence. Throughout our journey, there will always be people who are there to support us, but it’s a matter of asking for their assistance.

I think we all have met, at least once, that one talented person who didn’t believe in his or herself. Though one tends to focus on oneself rather than others, I believe it is our duty as people to help lift each other up to greater heights. Though one is rarely privy to the Heaven Luck of someone, even something simple such as complimenting them can go a long way. Just like how we often want, but never need, other’s support, supporting others even in small ways can really affect how someone views themselves.

Sometimes, we can be our greatest enemy. Though we have the skills, techniques and ability, something happened to us that prevented us from seeing the greatness that lies within. Despite what happened to us in the past, it is unfair that we are responsible for the damage others have inflicted upon us. However, with the help of the people we chose to grow and be with, one can achieve their full potential and act like it as well.
