TUMALOG Falls, a popular tourist destination in the southern town of Oslob, Cebu, will be temporarily closed to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023.

This is to facilitate the repair of a utility post that is in danger of toppling over.

According to Elsie Ronolo, a staff member at the Oslob Tourism Office, the utility post is located along the path that visitors use to access the natural wonder.

“Regarding na sa poste nga padung matumba... nagtakilid na man gud. Maong ayuhon para maayo ang pag-adto nila sa falls aron dili masagabal ang guest,” Ranolo said on Monday, Feb. 6.

(The post is leaning sideways and may topple over at any minute. That’s why it’s getting fixed so that guests who are going to the falls won’t be at risk.)

Despite this inconvenience, Ronolo said the town offers other activities like whale shark watching in Barangay Tan-awan and sunbathing on the Sumilon Island Sandbar, among others.

Meanwhile, Ronolo reminded the public that Tumalog Falls is closed every third Wednesday of the month for rehabilitation and cleaning.

Entrance fee to the falls is P50 for adults, P25 for children 12 years old and under and P20 for senior citizens and persons with disability. (ANV / PJB)
