EASTERN Visayas won the Regional Category Special Award (Best Booth) during the 30th Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) Travel Tour Expo at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
"Beyond the Best Booth Award, the best takeaways were the sales and the leads," said the Department of Tourism (DOT)-Eastern Visayas Director Karen Tiopes.
She thanked the region's tour operator partners IM Travel Corporation, HIS Travel Services, Marsdenisse Travel and Tours, and Viaje Holidays Travel Services for promoting the "Infinite Escapes of Eastern Visayas" during the event.
Tiopes also lauded the DOT-Eastern Visayas Product and Market Development Team and booth designers Nick and Daniel Guarino of Festivali Designs and Concept "for a job well done."
“We're mighty proud of how hard you work for Eastern Visayas tourism,” Tiopes said.
“Eastern Visayas has been tagged as one of the top places to visit this year for revenge travel. So, if you are thinking where to go when you take that much-needed break, take any of our infinite escapes in Eastern Visayas. With our Infinite Escapes, Eastern Visayas is definitely ready for you,” the tourism official added.
Earlier, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco maintained that this year’s expo “is critical as we aim for 4.8 million visitor arrivals this year.”
“We have ambitious targets in 2023, but I’m certain that we will deliver with the help of fellow Filipinos and the PTAA,” Frasco said. (SunStar Philippines)
