SIX residents of Talisay City, Negros Occidental who belong to the first batch of scholars under the Expanded Scholarship sa Masa Program of the Lizares Administration successfully hurdled the Criminology Licensure board examination held recently.

The board passers were Jeffrey Unabea, Jimbee Alegado, Omar Malutao, Ma. Victoria Posadas, Pam Gonzales and Rafael Dela Peña.

Mayor Neil Lizares named them as the “Crim. of the Crop,” relating it the French phrase of “Cream of the Crop,” used to describe when someone tries to convey the highest value or quality of a person or object.

“You all make me proud, including the whole City of Talisay and also you make your Mama proud as well,” the mayor said.

The six are among the pioneering grantees of the special program for BS Criminology at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University-Binalbagan Campus that was expanded in 2018.

Each scholar, since their first year in college, receives a monthly stipend of P2,000, P300 cellular phone load allowance, free school uniform, shoes, and nine kilos of rice.

Extending help up to the finish line, Lizares also provided P10,000 for each board examinee intended for their review and processing.

The board passers also conveyed their gratitude to Lizares and their parents, teachers and those who helped them achieve their dream of passing the board examination and eventually land in a job that they wished to have.
