TWO persons were arrested while some P850,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in a law enforcement operation in Lanao del Sur, the police reported Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Arrested were Fahad Pangcatan, 21, and Mohammad Sobair Aragasi, Jr., 20, according to Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao.

Verceles said the two were arrested by policemen around 9:30 p.m. Monday, February 6, in Bato-Bato village, Maguing, Lanao del Sur.

Verceles said the policemen of Maguing Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Jordan Bongat were conducting checkpoint operation that resulted in the arrest of the two suspects.

Investigation showed that Aragasi was driving motorcycle with Pangcatan riding tandem disregarded the checkpoint when flagged down by the policemen.

However, they were stopped by policemen serving as outer security.

Verceles said the two were found in possession of 125 grams of suspected shabu worth P850,000 when inspected by policemen.

He said the suspects were place under the custody of the Maguing Municipal Police Station while charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
