MEGAWORLD’S PR guru Harold Geronimo took centerstage at the ballroom of the scenic Twin Lakes Hotel in Tagaytay when he celebrated his 40th birthday. It was a happy affair that brought together Harold’s colleagues in the industry, media friends, relatives, and everyone else who have been part of his charmed life.

A long overdue vacation for Cebuana-turned-New Jersey-resident Milagros “Linda” Vasquez found her dividing time between Manila and Cebu. She wanted to acquaint her US-born and bred grandchildren Megan and Dylan Vasquez of the country of their roots. The young first-timers in the Philippines had a blast all throughout their stay. After less than three weeks, they said their reluctant goodbyes but promised to be back soon.

Sundays in Amara at our weekend home are always fun get-togethers with old friends. A few weeks back, it was to welcome visitors from the land of Uncle Sam—Niting Codina from Texas, and Clifford and Nuria Crowe from California.

It is a tradition of Marco Polo Plaza to celebrate Philippine Independence Day with a food festival. This year, focus was on the Flavors of Mindanao as executed by Marco Polo Davao’s executive chef Alex Destriza and senior cook King James Tinio during the week-long lunch and dinner buffet at Cafe Marco. The spread was an array of the rich and distinct flavors of Mindanao cuisine... among them, Linotlot nga Manok, Tinadtad nga Babak, Piyanggang Manok, Piyaren Udang Wadjet Makadurian and more.

Taft Property Venture Development Corp. organized a viewing party of its Taft Eastgate condo over whisky, wine and cigar in partnership with the Apotheke Craft Spirits, and Forth and Tay at its showroom at Pope John Paul Ave., Cebu City. A yummy array of finger food was prepared by Circa 1900.

A complete community, the Taft Eastgate development will include a hotel, residences, office spaces, retail options and all else that spells a modern and active lifestyle.

“Something Blu,” a bridal fair organized by Radisson Blu, unfolded at The Northwing atrium of SM City Cebu last weekend. Bridal creations from Cebu’s top designers as well as makeup demos by Estee Lauder were very much part of the wedding exhibition.
