CEBU Province’s passing the Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) evaluation done by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for 2022 is evidence of its effective fiscal management, an official said.

DILG Cebu Director Ian Kenneth Lucero cited the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, as well as the 41 other local government units for getting a passing mark in the GFH.

"Kini atong pagpasar sa Good Financial Housekeeping nagpamatuod lang nga sakto ug maayo gayud ang pagdumala sa panudlanan sa atong Probinsiya sa Sugbo ubos sa liderato sa atong inahan sa Sugbo, si Governor Gwen,” Lucero said through Sugbo News, Capitol’s social media arm.

(Passing the Good Financial Housekeeping proves that the Province has demonstrated accuracy and excellence of the treasury management under the leadership of our mother of Cebu, Governor Gwen.)

The Cebu Provincial Government led the other LGUs that passed the GFH evaluation for showing transparency and accountability in spending programs and projects for their constituents.

These LGUs are the component cities of Bogo, Carcar, Naga, Talisay, and Danao, highly-urbanized cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, and the municipalities of Alcantara, Alcoy, Alegria, Aloguinsan, Asturias, Badian, Balamban, Bantayan, Barili, Boljoon, Tabuelan, Borbon, Catmon, Daanbantayan, Dalaguete, Ginatilan, Liloan, Madridejos, Minglanilla, Moalboal, Oslob, Tuburan, Pinamungahan, Ronda, Samboan, San Fernando, San Remigio, Santa Fe, Santander, Sibonga, Sogod, Tabogon and Tudela.

The GFH is a citation given to LGUs that have passed the guidelines set by Commission on Audit in possessing sound fiscal management, transparency, and accountability. (PAC/TPT)
